Three-nation Tournament, Netherlands, 29-31 Jul 94
(Denmark-Scotland-Holland "A"-Holland "B")
This weekend a 3 nation tournament was played in the Netherlands.
Participants were Denmark, Scotland, Holland A and Holland B. (
note that in England that would be Holland and Holland A.) There
were some expectations of the Dutch side, Holland B failed to
beat Gloucestershire two months ago, they fell 7 runs short on a
target of 220+.
Friday 29 july
Denmark 263/9, Scotland 169 ao. Denmark wins by 96 runs.
Saturday 30 july
Holland A 147/9, Denmark 148/2. Denmark wins with 8 wickets.
Holland B 177 ao, Scotland 178/6. Scotland wins by 4 wickets.
Sunday 31 july
Holland A 208/7, Scotland 199/7. Holland A wins by 9 runs.
Holland B 140 ao, Denmark 144/2. Denmark wins by 8 wickets.
So clearly Denmark wins, and leaves a lot of work to do for the
Dutch before the World Cup in Pak/Ind/SL. The Danish didn't
qualify. The two Dutchmen in the English county season (van
Troost for Somerset and Lefebvre for Glamorgan) didn't play for
the Dutch. BTW van Troost probably never will, he hopes to be
England's strike bowler in 3 or 4 years.
