Date-stamped : 19 May97 - 06:15 Somerset v Sussex Somerset (11-4) beat Sussex (109) by 6 wickets ANDY CADDICK, left out of England`s one day squad and, according to Somerset chief executive Peter Anderson, "breathing fire and thunder", took four for 19 as Sussex were skittled out for 109 in 31.4 overs at Taunton. Somerset`s batting stuttered a little in turn, but, with the visitors` attack lacking Vasbert Drakes, Jason Lewry and James Kirtley through injury, they got home comfortably enough by six wickets as Mark Lathwell made a commanding unbreaten 53. Only Neil Taylor, batting from the second over for 40 not out, defied Caddick, who dismissed Keith Newell, Peter Moores, Nicky Phillips and Amer Khan. Phillips and Khan fell to successive balls with Mark Robinson surviving the hat-trick attempt. Graham Rose also impressed, taking three for 29.
