Date-stamped : 26 May97 - 06:15 Durham v Worcestershire Durham (180-3) beat Worcester (177) by 7 wickets DAVID BOON steered Durham to their first Sunday win under his command, picking off runs at his leisure against Worcestershire at Chester-le-Street following a spectacular innings by Martin Speight, writes Tim Wellock. Boon finished on 49 not out as Durham passed Worcestershire`s 177 for six with seven wickets and 5.2 overs to spare. Worcestershire performed as though they were still deflated by their failure to win the championship clash the previous evening, and their inadequate total contained only two boundaries until David Leatherdale hit five in the last six overs in an unbeaten 53. Speight and John Morris hit a six each as they launched the Durham reply with a stand of 58 and Speight`s 61 off 66 balls showed he is back to his destructive best.
