Date-stamped : 26 May97 - 06:15 Glamorgan v Hampshire Glamorgan (181-4) beat Hants (180) by 6 wickets A PARTNERSHIP of 87 for the third wicket between Adrian Dale (53) and Matthew Maynard (47) guided Glamorgan to a six-wicket win over Hampshire at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, writes Edward Bevan. Dale struck five boundaries but Maynard, who curbed his natural aggression to play a responsible innings, was content to accumulate in ones and twos. After Dale was out Tony Cottey (40 not out) shared a stand of 47 with his captain. Maynard was stumped with 25 runs required, but there were no further alarms as the target was reached with two overs remaining. Hampshire had made a promising start with Matthew Hayden (45) achieving a Sunday best, but they were later undone when Waqar Younis took three wickets in four balls to restrict them to a total of 180 for eight.
