Date-stamped : 21 Jul97 - 10:28 An explosive 85 from Tasmanian all-rounder Shaun Young, well supported by Tim Hancock, 46, and Monty Lynch, 54 not out, swept Gloucestershire to victory over Derbyshire with seven wickets and 7.2 overs left. Despite Kim Barnett`s brilliant 99 Derbyshire under-achieved in making 247 for nine - the pitch was excellent, the outfield quick and the boundary short on one side. Though Derbyshire`s innings began briskly, careless strokes saw them decline to 83 for four after 17 overs. Barnett once more held them together, hitting two sixes and 10 fours and su- pervising the addition of 106 runs from the last 10 overs. In reply, Hancock and Tony Wright added 72 for Gloucester- shire`s first wicket, setting the scene for Young, who faced only 61 balls, hitting seven sixes and five fours.
