Date-stamped : 21 Jul97 - 10:22 Warwickshire deposed to cap frustrating weekend By William Gray WARWICKSHIRE`S run of four consecutive Sunday victories, and their leadership of the League, ended with emphatic defeat by 87 runs with more than 11 overs to spare against Notting- hamshire at Trent Bridge. Notts, who forced a draw in their championship game after fol- lowing on 211 behind, overcame the loss of two wickets in the sixth over and the absence of captain Paul Johnson and Paul Pol- lard with hand in- juries to make 229 for eight. The bulk of this came in the middle-order, with half-centuries from Graeme Archer and Tim Robinson and a rapid 43 from Chris Tol- ley before Allan Donald broke through with three for 36. Warwickshire be- gan shakily, losing three wickets inside five overs, and once Dougie Brown`s bludgeoning 68 off 71 balls ended in a stumping, the rest caved in feebly to the seam of Mark Bowen, who took four for 29, and the medium-pace of Nathan As- tle, whose clever change of pace earned him three for 22.
