Date-stamped : 21 Jul97 - 10:22 At Scarborough, Durham`s miserable stay beside the seaside ended with a comprehensive defeat, their eighth in the League. And this time they could have no complaints about the pitch. The North Marine Road wicket reverted to type after the "re- sult" track on which Yorkshire collected an innings victory in the champi- onship, but Durham`s feeble performance showed no such improvement. Of their bowlers, only James Boiling, who at one stage claimed three for five off eight deliveries, failed to concede a half- centu- ry as Yorkshire built on a rampant second-wicket partner- ship of 130 in 18 overs between Darren Lehmann and Craig White. Lehmann hit a spectacular 77 from 60 balls before a late flur- ry from Anthony McGrath, whose 51 from 26 balls brought his five- in- nings Festival tally to 341, pushed the Yorkshire total past 250. Only opener Stewart Hutton, who hit 46 from 50 balls before he gave Sunday debutant Ian Fisher the charge and was stumped, of- fered any real resistance as Durham crumbled.
