Victory canter for Lancashire

LANCASHIRE,  whose  slow run rate this season leaves them with no
chance of winning cricket`s Axa Sunday  League,  moved   back  to
third  place after  beating  Essex  by six wickets at a canter at
Old Traf- ford.

They achieved victory with six deliveries to  spare  after  being
penalised one over for their slow over rate.
