MIDDLESEX  claimed  a  stirring  victory by one run when Notting-
hamshire`s  Wayne  Noon  failed to  strike  the  requisite  three
runs  off  the  last  ball  bowled by Keith Dutch, writes Stephen
Thor- pe.

Paul  Johnson,  the  Nottinghamshire  captain, had  led  the  way
with a superb century containing 12 fours and a six off 67 balls.

Earlier Mark Ramprakash made a dashing 52 in  a  century  opening
partnership   with   Paul   Weekes (53) before Owais Shah made 66
off 60 balls to lift Middlesex to 231, their highest Sunday score
of the season.
