Date-stamped : 15 Sep97 - 22:10 AXA Life League round-up: Hollioake and Stewart combine to good effect Scoreboard BEN HOLLIOAKE`S first Sunday League half century and a steady, unbeaten 67 from Alec Stewart took Surrey to a five-wicket victory over Lancashire with 17 balls to spare, writes Ian Cole. Twelve months ago Surrey lifted the AXA Life Trophy, but this win - their fourth in five matches - was not enough to move them above Leicestershire into the fourth prize-money position. Despite the defeat Lancashire finished third. The younger Hollioake and Stewart put on 101 for the third wicket in 16 overs before Hollioake was run out by Neil Fair- brother`s throw from deep extra cover. Fairbrother had been the mainstay of the Lancashire innings with a typical 54 from 76 balls. The day`s biggest smile, however, belonged to Surrey`s occa- sional bowler Mark Butcher, who knocked over the leg stump of England captain Michael Atherton with an inswinger.
