Date-stamped : 15 Sep97 - 22:10 A ROLLICKING innings from Vince Clarke and boisterous sup- port from several team-mates took Derbyshire to a surprise victory with eight balls left at Worcester, writes Peter Roebuck. Arriving at the crease to find the innings becalmed after an early flinging of bats, Clarke drove powerfully on both sides of the wicket in making 69 off 61 balls. Derbyshire were rewarded for keen fielding and tight bowling, with Paul Aldred and Andrew Harris particularly impressing. Al- though Tim Curtis cut neatly in his last match, only Tom Moody (107 in 113 balls) managed to break free. Worcestershire`s modest total was soon put in perspective.
