Adopt a Club
The Ultimate Club Makeover
Coaching and expert advice from top players, new ground equipment and kit, pre-season training at the National Cricket Centre: that's what TWC is arranging for this year's adopted club, Mullion CC in Cornwall. TWC searched for an enthusiastic club to adopt. We wanted to awaken a sleeping giant, arrest the decline of an established club or kick-start a young one. It didn't matter where they're based (as long as it's in Great Britain and Ireland), or the history or background. All they needed was the desire for sponsorship, help and better facilities - and, above all, the desire to improve and start leaping up the leagues.
We have got together with a number of companies and organisations to give your club the chance to fulfill its potential:
Slazenger will supply a senior side and a junior team with a full set of clothing and kit as well as providing a sponsored player for a training day (players include Ian Bell and Paul Collingwood).
The ECB has offered the National Cricket Centre (aka Academy) in Loughborough for a training session to use facilities enjoyed by England's best players.
Flicx will supply practice facilities: bowling machines, nets, and Flicx pitches.
Best-selling writer Marcus Berkmann will write-up your progress every month in TWC, Cricinfo.com will cover all your first-team matches.
Sky Sports has offered a coaching session with one of their commentators and will follow the fortunes of the through the season.
Man-of-the-match awards supplied by Cockspur Rum.
Help for the ground: advice from top groundsmen, the use of new equipment as well as extra ground facilities if needed.
Advice from top coaches, nutritionists and psychologists through the season and so the club continues to grow after this year, TWC will provide top advisers on development and fund-raising.
