Alex Tudor came to prominence in Australia, where he bowled with fire against a strong Australian batting line up. In a spectacular batting display against New Zealand recently, that lasted about four hours Alex Jeremy Tudor won over the hearts of thousands of English fans. From being an express fast bowler who could bat a bit, Tudor has shown that he is well on the way to becoming a genuine all rounder.

Alex Tudor bowls fast medium pace with a high arm action. At times, one is tempted to remove the 'medium', from that description. Tudor is a strong, tall lad who can generate serious pace. His greatest asset is his impeccable line and length, which more often than not forces the batsman to attempt a stroke. Tudor is more than capable of bowling long spells and uses his height to surprise the batsmen with steep bounce.

Alex Tudor's abilities as a batsman cannot be doubted anymore, after his 99 not out against the Kiwis in the last test he played. Predominantly an off-side player, Tudor strokes the ball with ease. Anything from smashing cover drives to scathing cut shots are on the cards when Tudor is at the crease. As he grows in confidence, Tudor unveils a dazzling array of strokes, flicking the ball off his pads with a deft dab of the wrists or thumping it straight back past the bowler.

Alex Tudor is test match material. Sheer class. With either ball or bat in hand. What more can a captain ask for?
