Ananth, after working with IBM and Spinneys in senior IT positions for over 25 years, switched to Cricket related analysis and development work. He created pioneering simulation and ratings related systems. He has worked with Wisden and Cricinfo over the past few years and created the Wisden-100 set of reports.

A few years back he ran a complex simulation of an imaginary series between all-time England and Rest of the World Test teams, involving players over 125 years of Test cricket. This was published in "The Times" with commentary by Chris Martin-Jenkins.

He contributes regular Cricket analysis reports for Cricinfo and runs his own Cricket analysis website www.thirdslip.com.
