And that gives South Africa their second-largest defeat in one-day
cricket ever, as well as their biggest against India.
The World Cup started the trend, and this match has confirmed that
India is a team in the ascendant while South Africa is in a phase
of transition, missing many key players and under a new captain.
India win this match by a handy 153 runs, to go with their massive
200-run win over Bangladesh on Friday, and really look like the
team to beat right now.
First the batting clicked, with Sourav Ganguly and Dinesh Mongia
supplementing a Kaif gem to get the side past 300
And then, clinically, India's bowlers turned to spin to bowl South
Africa out on a dry, dusty wicket, with Sehwag picking three for
28 towards the end to hurry the win
As expected, the Man of the Match is Mohammad Kaif
Join us again tomorrow for the third match of this TVS Cup, South
Africa taking on Bangladesh, starting at 1:30 p.m. IST (8:00 a.m.
GMT). Till then, goodbye.
